You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t you let ’em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change.
It may be unfair, but what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime.
Nothing’s changed. You’ll go home. You’ll be bored. You’ll be ignored. No one will listen to you, not really listen to you. You’re too clever and too quiet for them to understand. They don’t even get your name right.
Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.
If there is anything that we wish to change in our children, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves.
