That belief under certain circumstances makes blessed, that bliss does not make a fixed idea true, that belief removes no mountains but places mountains where there are none: a hasty walk through madhouse enlightens sufficiently on these matters. Not a priest to be sure: for he denies by instinct that sickness is sickness and a madhouse a madhouse.
