If I didn’t take people where they hired me to take them I wouldn’t expect them to get back on my bus. We expect leaders to take us where we want to go. The problem, it seems to me, begins when they don’t. When things do not improve and yet these leaders keep expecting us to get on their bus. I think this is when leaders become something else. Politicians.
I am aware that I am surrounded by people who feel that they could do the job better, strong people with powerful characters, but for better or worse, the crown has landed on my head.
You must believe in your leaders. They can suffer reversals, defeats… But you must give them a chance to prove just why they rose in the first place.
When fearless leader forgets every once in a while that he does need to fear the Almighty, you bring him back to himself. You restore equilibrium.[to Wendy]
