There are two kinds of pain: the sort of pain that makes you strong, or useless pain. The sort of pain that’s only suffering. I have no patience for useless things.
No matter how bad things get, the true test is how we choose to respond to the pain we suffer, or inflict.
God can’t save any of us because it’s inelegant. Elegance is more important than suffering. That’s His design.
Life is about suffering. There’s no escape from it. That’s the truth. What’s important is how we deal with suffering, how we deal with the truth.
If we can no longer separate the innocent from the guilty, everything that happened to us, all of our suffering, is meaningless.
